A local store has this lens.

The problem is I couldn't mount it on my K-30. It is a K-mount - not M42.

But the partial "ring" is bigger than what I have for my other lenses. I can put the lens in and it seems to fit the camera. But it won't rotate. I did read one review for one of the other Vivitar Series 1 lenses that said he had to mod it to get it to fit.

Any idea how I can fix this? It's a good price and I really want it - but I don't want to damage anything while trying to get it to fit.

I think the black flange has to be partially removed ( with a dremmel tool for example).

Flat black paint recommended to touch up the exposed bare metal to cut down internal reflections.

I generally use a needle nose plyers and and grab part of it and basically roll it off
