Hi - new user here
I've been checking out the Pentax Forums for a while.
I found a vintage Pentax lens in a yard sale a few years back – approx 1978 K-mount SMC 100mm 2.8, in original case - great condition - no fungus or haze. Cost me $20.
I did not have a chance to use it until I recently acquired the Sony A7III.
Of course these full-frame cameras can use vintage lenses with adapters so I knew it was the perfect opportunity to use the Pentax with it!
I got the K&F Concepts adapter (K-mount to Sony E mount) and it works great!
I am loving using this lens on the A7III - the results are awesome - beautiful bokeh, great colors, lovely feel to the shots.
And of course this is all shot in manual mode on the A7III.
I use a combination of focus peaking and EVF zoom to get my focus nailed using custom buttons on the camera - really great!
Anyway, since I have this adapter I'm wanting to find other compatible Pentax K-mount lenses.
I'll be hitting the local yard sales this summer and would like advice about what lenses I should look out for.
Obviously the Pentax SMC series - the 50mm seem very common but there is an 18-200mm I think, a 135mm etc.
But how about other brands - i.e. Tamron, Takumar, Sigma etc...
Do any of the later auto focus lenses still use K-mount? Obviously I'd lose any AF and still have to use those in manual mode but just wondering.
Is there a list of all the K-mount lenses on this forum someone can point me too?
If you'd like to see some of my pics with the A7III and SMC 100mm 2.8 let me know and I'll post some
Cheers,
- Andy
