I ran across something today on the Web. I was researching the fix for the Zenitar 16/2 infinity focus issue and found a posting where the user corrected the diaphragm pin issue:
DIY: "fixing" a Zenitar M 16 to use with a 5/7D/alpha - Dyxum forums - Page 1
The fix is detailed in the second post. In summary, the fix is to remove the aperture actuator assembly. With the actuator gone, the lens defaults to the stopped down state. Some time ago I also ran across a solution where a standoff sleeve was slipped over the actuator pin (from the inside) so that it is always depressed. That is probably the preferable route since it is easily reversible.
