Nice! I like the last shot best and I am NOT into flower shots. Looks like those coming out from photography books examples!

Hi,

First thanks for your kind comments

As i told in the post it was a suprise.

Note in the photos bellow that some photos of the first post are crops, so we can see the quality of that lens and camera.

As we can see we donīt need exotic lens and cameras for take good photos and this new 18-55 II is almost a free lens

Hi,

So this new version of the 18-55 is a fantastic lens and i only play with it for 2 days.

I buy it very cheap for use it as a walk around lens and iīm very happy with it.
To have an idea of my opinion my other lens are the:

FA* 24/2.0 AL [IF]
FA 31/1.8 Limited
FA 43/1.9 Limited
FA 77/1.8 Limited
M 50/4 Macro

For have an idera of the evolution on this new lens note that some photos are at 55mm/wide open and i canīt see the softness like in the first generation 18-55 lens.

In the nenunfar photo (photo nš6 in the first post) the crop is from the edge of the lens at 55mm/f5.6

when you said it was a surprise i knew it would be the kit lens, the results are looking great. i sold mines early but i'm wondering if i should pick up a new one again. although i would primarily use it for the wide end where it seems to be the weakest.

true, but exotic lenses and cameras can expand your opportunities

These are good photographs. I do see some resolution limitations, but by no means does the lens look like a dud. It permits photography, which is after all the main criterion, no? I wouldn't say I feel the need to go out an buy one, but I wouldn't throw one away either.

I can see also some, but compare the photos and crops of the K100D + DA 18-55II and K20D + DA*16-50 2,8 and i only see some lost in resolution donīt much.

Iīm still waiting for the next generation Pentax DSLR

K100D DA 18-55II at 55/f5.6 crop of the bottom edge wide open

K100D DA 18-55II at 18/f5.6 only around 1,5 stops closed

K100D DA 18-55II at 43/f5.6 only around 0,5 stops closed

Now de K20D DA* 16-50 at 39/f5.6

K20D DA* 16-50 at 50/f2.8
