Your experience with Tamron service - Canada

I am wondering if anybody on this forum has any experience with Amplis Foto, who service Tamron lenses in Canada. I just bought a Tamron 17-50 from another forum member and I am sad to say that it front focus pretty badly. I set the focus adjustment on my K20D to -10 and it is still not enough to bring the focus to the center of the chart. In addition, the right side is a little softer than the left side. I called Amplis today and they say they can't give a firm estimate on the phone until they examine the lens. They mentioned it usually takes about one our of labour at $80 per hour. I think if they can do a good job $80 would be money well spent. This lens has the potential to be very sharp with good contrast if the focus problem is fixed. I just don't know how competent their service tech is. Do you have any experience with them and do they do a good job? Thanks in advance.
