Jupiter in June with SMC Reflex 1000 / 11 - Oh Galileo, Galileo, Figaro Magnifico!

Jupiter in early June of 2018 with its Galilean moons: Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto.
This is not too different from what Galileo would have seen back in 1610 since his telescope was 20x!

Oh Galileo, Galileo, Figaro Magnifico Jupiter in June! | kayakfari ( kayak .. far .. i )

The 1000mm mirror was actually backed by an NEX3N (same sensor as K-5/k-01/etc) because the tilt screen made it much easier since it's high in the sky.
Cropped down about to a third and taken on a humid South Florida evening.
Will also try with Q again!

Interesting capture. I'm impressed that you managed to focus the lens so well.

Very beautiful.
Luckily you had clear skies, no "thunderbolt and lightning very very frightening (me)", right?

Focusing is tricky but the LV with magnification really helps on the NEX, but I've also had good success with the OVF on my old K20D. The focus ring is huge and well damped, not too tough, not too quick. It will hold it's position once set. I like this lens! FYI, the Manfrotto 501 video head is a great match for it!
