Which Pentax lens will/would be your next purchase? (we need more posts;)

As I've said elsewhere, I am waiting for the entirely imaginary 40-80 Ltd, to go with my 20-40 Ltd.

Seriously thinking of an African safari in the next 12-15 months, so I would want something longer than my DA55-300 or DA*60-250 with the IQ of the latter. If Tamron or Sigma offered their 150-600 in K mount, I might opt for that, but the Pentax 150-450 would seem to fill the bill, if at a very high price. I would love to get a previously owned copy in excellent shape to save some money.

Don't have anything new planned except new camera body. M35/2.8 and M150/3.5 are on my shopping list and will buy them when I find from convenient location. I'm not looking for M20/4 or M28/2, but might be easily tempted to get them. These would fill my M collection.
After that, I don't know. Have to wait and see, if the coming DFA* lenses start to whisper my name at some point. At the moment, I feel that if I go for modern lenses, I'll go straight to the top.

Sure, the DFA150-450 is pretty close, but 2kg is just too much. It should be possible to make a xxx-400 zoom lighter (I believe Canon has a 100-400 at 1.5kg). But since this is not likely to happen I guess I'll make do with my old 55-300. Far, far from perfect, but super light and compact.

If I can find one for a reasonable price I guess the old Sigma 100-300/4 could be an alternative, especially if it comes with the TC.

Beyond that I think I have the lenses I need (or "need") for now.

Camera: FF
Type: prime
Focus: AF or MF, doesn't really matter.
Focal length(or range)/Maximum Aperture: 15/4
Price: $1,000
Other Features: AW would be nice, but above all it shouldn't be too big (more like an A20/4 than an Irix 15).
Use: As it is small enough to always have a spot in the bag it will cover the need for those wiiiide shots.

I rarely feel the need for anything wider than my A20/4, though. I guess an updated slow 20mm with properties as close as possible to the (SMC) DA15 might actually be even more attractive.

Definitely the upcoming DA* 11-18mm 2.8. If I had a lot more available cash, then the DFA 150-450. The 2Kg is not a big deal since my SIgma 120-400 is nearly that heavy. The extra 50mm and Pentax rendering would make it an easy choice for an upgrade.

DFA*70-200 f/4, internal zoom, about the size of the 50-135, that would be a lens i would pay good money for.

I'm looking forward to the release of the DA* 11-18mm f/2.8. Should fit well with my new K-3ii successor. I've begun following Brinks trucks around in hopes that a door will swing open and something falls out.

Will (once it actually ships): Most likely the Laowa 100mm 2:1 macro, provided it has auto-aperture.

Would (if only it existed): A dedicated macro lens similar to the Canon MP-E 65mm, but covering the 1:3 to 3:1 range, instead of the MP-E's 1:1 to 5:1 spec. Could be any focal length greater than 60mm. Doesn't have to be fast. Preferred under 750g. Up to $1500.

This assumes I keep shooting Pentax of course - a system switch is a possibility for me...

I originally had no initial plans for it, but things change... The DFA 50 coming out, I'll be an early purchaser, even though I have plenty, including the FA 43.

And then theres the 11-18, which would round out my apsc lenses nicely, and be my widest lens.

An ƒ4 FF landscape lens at 20mm
Or an 18-35 ƒ4 or variable aperture zoom with comparable IQ.
Modern design, with better edge to edge sharpness than what's available, PLM or DC motor, a distance scale and DoF scale and quick shift.
$800-$1200 CAD range.

It's probably the only thing I'd buy at the moment. I have way too many lenses already.

I have always wanted to have a fa* 200 F4 micro, and I know there is one on the Forum for sale but out of my price point maybe someday.

If I had a lot more available cash, then the DFA 150-450. The 2Kg is not a big deal since my SIgma 120-400 is nearly that heavy.
