That is one they should just build a new body for and create a DFA 200 f4 Macro with new coatings and the same optical design.

After seeing how many people in the lens ownership polls who never shoot over 100mm, I wonder how much market there would be for it. But I'm sure they could make a new one for a lot less than the one in the market place is going for. But would it ever be worth their while?

When I was 17 years old, a friend had invited me over to his house while his parents were gone ( which was against house rules). My buddy says "Come see this." With a sense of awe and wonder he went into his father's closet, pulled out a long black tube ( from the back of the closet behind his father's clothes) from which he withdrew a very long Pentax SMC 600mm lens. I've been fascinated with long glass ever since. Reading the forum, I've come to understand, that's not a common attribute.

For me, there's a sense of primitive enjoyment whenever I use a tele... it's like when you hand a binocular to a child... seeing far-away objects as if you were actually closer, the feeling of being able to move at will in space...
I started experimenting with the only cheap TC I own for this very reason.

A well built, weather-sealed, Pentax-colours, contrasty and sharp, short-to-medium-telephoto, AF macro prime. Need I mention that would point to the DFA 100 Macro WR? Have wanted that one basically as long as I've been shooting Pentax.

With a little luck, with next year's tax return, it may actually happen. If the car and various household appliances hold up, that is.

Currently only the K-1II (or Nikon D760 or Sony A7III) is on my list. If the K-1II win, I'll need a DFA24-70 and a 70-200.

Somewhere in there. They've got a great 135 F 2.8 FF design in the archives, just start from that...

and ANXIOUSLY awaiting the 11-18...any news? Or are they doomed...DOOMED!

Cheers,
Cameron

Pentax K1 certainly...for professional use in Wedding Photos, Portraits, Advertising Photo, Landscapes and personal use.
Wish I cuold buy also an FA 15-30 f2,8 and an FA 24-70 f2,8.....just to upgrade my actual equipment consisting ok a K7 and a K3 with various zoom AF lenses and prime MF lenses...
My actual equipment cover focal lenght from 10mm to 2500mm....excluding telextender.
Sorry for my bad English

The top of the wish list would be a smallish wide angle prime to use with the K1. Something like a 20 or 24 F1.4 or 1.8. I've got the 15-30, and it's great, but I wouldn't mind a smaller, faster prime for travel.

Priceless! If you could do a Vulcan mind-meld on a cat (or just look at their expression) it's probably "jeez not another photo" thought!

My next lens purchase will be either a SMC Pentax-A* 400mm F2.8 ED (dream big) or the SMC Pentax-FA 77mm F1.8 Limited, likely the FA 77. I find myself wanting just a bit more reach in some cases than my 28-70mm zoom gives me and having a substantially better faster lens in that range would be nice. The 400mm is a dream as I really want something really good for astrophotography plus my existing long lenses are all very old so some ED glass would also be welcome when taking critter pictures.

My wishlist priorities at the moment

1. DA* f2.8/11-18
2. if availlable DFA 20 or DFA18-35 or DFA20-40 (all these would be great for usage on FF and APSC)
3. if availlable DFA TC1.4x
4. if availlable DFA f2.8/300 or DFA f4/400 (maybe DFA150-450 would be the way to go right now but I‘m not really sure about it)

I don‘t like to think about the money I‘d have to spend over time.

The DA 20-40 limited. I've had my eye on that lens for a while.
