Sounds like the A 20 I had, before it went to Eric Henderson.

You weren't being serious in Post 10, Norm, and neither was I in Post 12 ... hence the smilies, right?

On a real point, you do a lot around here - 28,500 posts, nearly 9,000 likes, but you're of course no shrinking violet in pointing out errors made by others.

All well and good, but as I showed with the Pentax FA20-35 example, that has to apply to you too, you're not magically exempt.

How do you actually do this? Do you stack one on top of the other, and if so, in any particular order? Or is there a hidden mount that enables you to mount two lenses at the same time?
No wonder my pictures are so bad, Bxf ... instead of just sitting on top of the camera, I should mount one of them in the K-1 first!

How does the FA 31 fare at 20mm?
My point exactly.

The 31 and 20-40 are wildly different, and comparing them is the same as listing their particular strengths and weaknesses. We already know what those are.

If you're an "f/8 and be there" photographer,
f/8 performance is what you live by,
especially if you need the depth of field.
I understand what you mean, and agree. What I want to stress is that purchasing the expensive FA 31 to use it at F8 makes little sense. It becomes a VERY expensive marginal improvement over consumer zooms. wider apertures is what makes this lens different (or better, unique, special, substitute whichever adjective you want).
