DA 18-135 ED WR focus question

So I'm fooling with my 18-135 today, and I'm curious about the focus ring. On my other zooms with quick shift, the focus ring has a nice hard stop at infinity focus. Obviously the focus mechanism with the 18-135 isn't the same screw drive as my DA 18-55 WR or DA 50-200 WR, so I'm not shocked to find a difference, but am I missing something with this lens? It sort of feels like I can focus on something nearby, the adjust out to infinity, and feel a slight release of the focus ring (almost like it has a decoupling clutch or something). I assume this is normal, but since i bought the lens used and have no real documentation, i figured I'd ask the forum. Am I understanding this lens correctly or should I seek repair?

What you experience is normal for that lens. The focus ring has no hard stop.

Thanks, Ole. Felt like everything was fine, but swapped out to a different lens and realized the hard stop was there, so it made me wonder. Appreciate the quick response.

I've struggled with this behavior when trying to do some night photography with this lens. It's not my usual night setup but sometimes I wind up wanting to use it because it is all I have with me. If I was planning to use it at night I should pre-focus while it is still light and put some tape on it to keep it where I need it.
