The bokeh stays nice and smooth no matter what aperture is used. I presume that is what the rounded aperture blades are doing. I'm finding it's best working aperture is f/5.6, it's close to best sharpness at that, I haven't decided if f/8 is better or not, if it is, it's not by much, depth of field is sufficient especially with stacking, and the out of focus rendering is still like melted butter.
