Lens Case for 150-450mm

I am looking to take advantage of the lower price on the 150-450mm Pentax lens. At the same time I want to purchase an upgraded lens case. Can anyone recommend a lens case? Or, better yet, can anyone tell me the diameter of the lens hood?

Are you looking for a hard case? The case it comes with is otherwise quite good- hard to find a fault with it, IMO, unless you're looking for a different way to carry the lens.

I agree with Adam, the case the 150-450 comes with is very good. Also, don't forget that the 150-450 comes with a tripod collar, so you'll need to factor that into your width. Personally I do not recommend removing the tripod collar. Even if you don't use the lens on a tripod, the tripod collar is very useful for assisting with handholding the lens.

Thanks....I'll get the lens and then decide if I want/need a better case. Can't wait to start shooting with this new lens!

I'm also quite satisfied with the case, that the lens came with, though I rarely use it I must admit- most of the time my lenses are in my bagpack....

IF you are really interested in a different case for the 150~450mm,
then consider a Tenba LL400 II because it will fit the 150~450mm with a K1 attached, and it is equipped with a wide shoulder strap (two-inch + pad), a padded hand grip, and moderate-sized accessory pockets on the front and one side.
It is presently on sale @ B&H for $89, a full $75 off the usual B&H price (this may indicate the case is being discontinued)
Even if you want to wait to see the case that come with the lens, it might be worth looking at the Tenba because it will tote the lens with camera attached plus extras, and the sale price is very attractive
