The shots I have seen from this lens have been amazing. And yours are no exception. If I only didn't mind my wife divorcing me. :-)

Give it to her for Christmas. "What, you don't want it? OK , I'll take it then, I don't really want it but what the heck."

It actually has it's perks. My LBA is much happier!

The goose, appreciating quality of the lens, was willing to cooperate I thought that 50mm is not my favourite FL, but pictures taken with DFA 50/1,4 are so good, that I feel how LBA kicks in.

Sharpness form this lens wide open at an aperture of f/1.4 is absolutely incredible!! I am wondering which camera you were using, and if it was with center-spot AF. Great job in nailing focus on the eye, since at f/1.4 the DOF is so shallow.

Since I have a couple of old but good fast Pentax AF 50mm lenses, including the FA 1.4, I haven't had much interest in the new, much larger D-FA, but now with this display it does have my attention!

However, a 50mm FF prime lens weighing 2 lb. is equally amazing! It weighs more than my FF DA* 200mm f/2.8 tele prime!

LBA is brutal when the object of your affection is the equivalent of over 6 months of beer money!

Hello, I used K-1 and centre AF point. However, it wasn't easy because every slight move of myself or the goose is immediately visible on the DOF. In this case the goose was the steady one and I was the clunky one when trying to balance inbetween hundreds of 'you know whats'

Obviously a great lens going by what the fortunate owners have so far posted. I will never be able to justify a DFA* 50/1.4 but I just snagged a Takumar 50/1.4 (8 element) at one thirteenth of the price of the DFA (It hasn't even arrived yet). Given the legendary status of the 8 element lens, I will be waiting for someone who owns both lenses to do a side-by-side comparison - just out of academic interest.

I don't drink alcohol, so does that mean I can buy the lens?
