Wish I could figure out how to focus it to infinity on my K-3.
I've seen threads where the T mount adapter was the culprit in infinity focus problems with other lenses.

You could try sending an email to Altair Computers asking for info on their computer?
Ya know, I tried that for my Wang - it came back undeliverable.

I'm giving a new T-mount adapter a try. The one I bought is for telescopes and seems to have an adjustable mount, so here's hoping.

No no no...not THAT Wang. THIS Wang - Wang Laboratories - Wikipedia.

Funny...I had to explain the difference to my mom, too.

Especially since the last model year was 1977 (at least in the USA).

This is the kind of inane chit-chat that will get us to 45,000 posts - keep it up!

My first real IT job was with a company that used WANG for word processing. Most non-secretarial employees had computers but it was all in transition. Twinaxial connectors all collapsed back to a single room where the Wang lived. A separate computer room housed the networking and servers for everything else. Slowly the WANG use wound down and the secretarial staff used their computers more than their terminals.

I have a suspicion that Samsung NX owners are in the same boat regarding support from the mothership. Nothing concrete to go on, just a hunch. I did a really sweet deal on a Samsung NX1 a couple of months ago. It has some shutter issues but works fine for most of the time. The shutter issues are repeatable and not random so there is definitely a problem. I got the idea that the seller was fed up with Samsung but I didn't ask for details. The Samsung website tells me to direct any queries on repairs to a shop that is a thousand miles (literally) away. To add to my suspicions, there is another NX on a classified site that is said to work intermittently. The seller is likewise selling at a rock bottom price and is not finding any takers.

Probably get a response (assuming someone's alive to respond) along the line of if you use their computer it could damage the internet!

Since there seems to be a lot of interest in the Altair on this thread, have you all seen the Altair simulator?

MITS ALTAIR

I still remember when i saw my first Wang.
I couldn't understand how highlighting text was a useful thing.

The salesman then asked me to sit down and show everyone I understood of what he'd just done. I was completely lost. I still hate that guy. If he was trying to make the point that even dummy like me could pick this up, I was a total disappointment. By the way I was at this little demo because Computer Mart of Widsor was going to be selling Wangs.

Apparently, someone or another just HAS to whip out their Wang stories to discuss.

"We here at Sigma disavow any knowledge of such a mirror lens as you describe. We at Sigma would never have produced such a faulty lens (of which we have no knowledge). Do not ask us again. If you repeat any queries, we will dispatch customer 'service' to see exactly the nature of the problem with you, and correct it by any means necessary."
