You buy an old AF-compatible or even just Pentax A vintage teleconverter with haze, fungus, scratched or broken optics, and you gut the optics. It's not hard to remove them. Then you have a teleconverter tube that passes aperture information and allows correct entering.
I thought you would need a PZ-capable autofocus converter to get the KAF4 lenses to work. Isn’t the aperture control handled by what used to be PZ contacts?

I don't have the PLM lens so it never crossed my mind, unfortunately.

I vote Samyang 24mm or Samyang 35mm F1.4 lenses if manual focus F1.4 lenses are what you’re after.

The 85mm is f/1.4 too
You are right, though. The 35mm and 24mm are great. From test numbers it seems they perform at the same level of the best of the crop. To get something marginally better you got to leitax a hugely expensive lens!
From my personal experience they are both great, and work well wide open. f/1.4 is not just a focusing aperture...

+1 for Samyang 85/1.4, extremely good value to be had, you just have to brace yourself for frustration as you ride the learning curve of trying to nail f1.4 and 1.6 shots with mf. I firmly believe many reviewers write off these wide apertures as being soft when in reality the focus was off, you can start to easily doubt yourself with a lens when the majority of shots appear soft (and they look perfectly good in the ovf) but every now and again on the 3rd or 4th attempt you nail focus at f1.4 and are blown away by the 3d pop and sharpness achieved. It's just incredibly difficult to manage consistently even with all the aiding tools (Tenpa 1.22 and Live View user here...).
