Hey, why weren't your consecutive posts combined? That make it very easy to reach 180 for the month.
you can turn that off:

I actually hate the merged post thing...
If I am responding to multiple people on a thread I don't want it grouped all in one post.

Similarly when someone responds to me, along with other posters, it's kind of annoying to have to read through the entire response to see what they were saying to me.

In my mind when I hit post, I'm done with that thought.

If I'm adding to it, I'll hit edit.

When I write another post, I want it to be a separate post/thought.
If I want to add to that, I'll edit again

Agree. Should default the other way.

OK, back to the K-1 with the stuck lenses.

Best case: DFA28-105. Such a versatile lens for the way i shoot. Great IQ, worthy of the K-1. Would be happier if it started at 24mm. With its greater focal length range, it beats out my FA20-35.

Worst case: Soligor 400mm f6.3 preset. Just not very versatile because I don't shoot much at that focal length. IQ is rather low, but it was the only long lens I had back in the early film days (it was really cheap). Needed f11 to be usable. That's a lot of light. Actually, it's STILL my longest focal length lens (not much of a birder).

Most would be either the FA 43mm LTD, or the converted DA* 60-250mm.

Least, I'd say the DFA 100mm macro. Great lens, but somewhat limiting...

I think you ment it the other way around:
Most annoying DFA 100mm

How much do you use it over 70? I have the 24-70 and find it very versatile. I hear so much on the 28-105, I feel like it would be worth getting as a general walk about lens.

Probably about 1/4 of the time, and usually pegged at 105 if I have no additional lens that's longer. There's a bunch at 28, another bunch around 35 or so. The rest are scattered over the rest of the range. The weight is very nice. I do wish it went to 24, though.

Yep. That extra 4mm can make a difference, especially inside. You can always crop a shot taken at 70, but you can't go the other way.

The one that would least upset me would have to be my DA*55 (that new 50mm would be a welcome one to be glued it though... )! Surprisingly, the DA* has left my 77mm a bit in the dust - I should get myself reacquainted with it, as I do like the longer focal length better. DA*200mm would be be next after the 77mm.

Are APS-C lenses involved in this? I have only used primes on the K-1, but I suppose the 18-55mm that I haven't used in years would make me sad. If just full frame lenses, probably the F 28mm 2.8. A fine lens for when I need it, but not one that suits my style of photography.

Compared to the FA 20-35 how do you feel it compares (in the overlapping focal length of 28-35) to the DFA 28-105 ?
Its driving me nuts that I cant afford the FA 20-35 and still cant find a decent copy ...... wanting this lens badly.

In their common range, they're pretty close, but the DA28-105 has the better IQ there. The FA20-35 cleans up pretty nicely with fringe correction in PP, though. It's so pleasant to use the FA20-35, with it being so light and small. If you hate plastic, it might turn you off. I just wish it were WR or AW, as it is perfect for hikes in the mountains. I have to take a WR lens to use when the rain comes in the afternoon.

22-24mm is my favorite focal length range for the FA20-35. The 20mm length is used rarely - just a bit wide for my eye.
