I don't think it's all that strange, but it is a weird design choice...
300mm f6.3 preset, with a tripod collar since you'll never be using it handheld with film...
This is a telephoto landscape lens, not really for birding or sports, I think...
Even though it 'only' has 12 aperture blades, they are curved a bit, and it does give nice bokeh circles...
It is horrible to use on most K-mount bodies as the prism gets in the way of the tripod collar, so mounting it is a pain.
Here's the lens set at f22 (shot with a M39, non-LTM Cassarit 45mm f2.8 at f16, I think. On the K-01 with full power flash while holding a paper towel in front of it...)
And bokeh circles at f6.3, wide open...
... at f11...
... and at f22...
I think the extra patterning on a couple of the lights may be from the jar they are in beginning to be in focus enough to matter to the bokeh circles at this aperture...
On second thought, maybe the Cassarit is weirder
And yes, the sensor is filthy... but I also need to make my annual statement that the little flap covering the card slot that everyone thought would be the first thing to fail on the K-01 is still attached...
