Some white dots inside DFA*50 lens?!

These are only on left side. I shot with another camera and long exposure so that additional light reflections don't confuse. There is two three dot groups and those last two dots are just reflections. What are they? They seem to look like small paint stains?

Do they wipe off with a microfiber cloth? Just send it back if it bothers you

They are behind lens and on the surface of the lens barrel, so I can't wipe them, but what are they and can they affect photos?

Could be lens separation. Or imperfect black coating of the lens edges to cut flair.

I wouldn't accept that at all ! Doesn't matter what they are as they shouldn't be there at all. Send it Back as its unacceptable.

Hard to tell for sure, but it looks like it may be manufacturing dust on the inside surface. I wouldn’t hesitate to request a replacement, even if it doesn’t affect the image.

I looked closer with a flashlight and it seems that all white things are on the first inner barrel ring. There is two more on the top and bits on the right too. It looks like some stains or the surface is a bit chipped.

Bought it from online shop in Finland. It was about a hundred cheaper than normal price and it should be unused. They still have that discount. Maybe they bought refurbished batch or something. Just sent email for return. I guess that I'm not shooting with K-1 for some time then

Hopefully they take the return!

That's awful to hear... Often the deals that are too good to be true... are too good to be true.

I would accept a $100 discount for a scratched lens cap or a minor scuff on the body somewhere. Anything optics on a $1200 lens It will take about $400 marked down for me to call it acceptable (great deal) given its new lens.
I am now thinking if this is a QA issue for a batch then We should see a flash sale of these copies somewhere around thanks giving.

Try showing the seller the images of the spots and see if they will discount you further? It may be a good chance to get a better deal since I highly doubt something so minuscule is going to affect image quality. I've had some hard used bargain lenses with some pretty good scratched front elements and you'd never even know by the photos taken with them.

Most unlikely that this type of abnormality would affect images in any way. If it were a large white unpainted area, then it would be possible for light reflections to occur into the lens, but those tiny dots will not do that. I don't think it is a refurbished lens, since the model is still so new. Maybe this dealer buys up slightly imperfect copies and discounts them.

Unlikely to affect photo quality. Too small.

Depending on what they are they could cause mechanical issues in future. Particles stuck to the barrel, for example, might come loose and jam the focus mechanism or aperture. Paper debris would absorb moisture and encourage fungus. I can't tell enough from the photo.

I'd probably return it for replacement.
