Irix 15mm or 10-17mm?

So I have recently purchased a bunch of used gear, and as such I have both a K3 which will be my small travel camera, a 1.5x Tele converter for my Tele lens, and maybe hiking camera, and a K1 for everything else.

I have now got both the 10-17mm and the irix 15mm, and while I know they are different beasts altogether... I don't 'need' two wide angles, and by order of the minister of finance, I need to clean up the lens collection. Haha.

So do I keep the fisheye for the radical perspective and quick AF for when travelling, with the option of defishing, or... Do I keep the 15mm for slow deliberate lanscapes and a 'wide but not super wide' on apsc option.

At the end of the day, I know that only I should know what my needs are, but to be honest, I don't NEED either, but would just like one wide angle option.... So hence the question, what would YOU keep in a similar situation? Keeping in mind I've never sold an image, I only shoot for fun.

Thanks in advance

I cannot speak to the IQ or anything else on the Irix, but the DA10-17 is one of my favorite lenses...

put it on the K-3 and shoot it for a month... you'll see how special it is...

one note on the DA10-17: once you get above 14mm, the fishy-ness is dramatically reduced and by 17mm, it's pretty much gone....

Here’s another vote for the 10-17, I wouldn’t be without mine.

To be honest I was leaning towards the 10-17. Even though it's not FF compatible, it's just so much fun!

I enjoy shooting with my K-1 and Irix 15mm just as you described.

Look at the Laowa 12/2.8 too.
More flare tolerant than the Irix, smaller even at 12mm.

You already received a lot of good advice. I will share another "take" of the question.

The DA 10-17 is AF, a zoom, wide-angle at 17 mm and fisheye at 10 mm. The Iris 15m mm is MF, prime, wide. You are comparing apples and oranges IMO.

An alternative worth to consider IMHO is the DA15mm Ltd. It is a winner on the K-3 and I read posts suggesting good results on the K-1. The lighter weight and the AF might make a difference....

My 5 cents....

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions to everyone who has commented. However to those suggesting other lenses like the laowa and the 15ltd (a lens I want to get my hands on one day to see what the fuss is about...)
My question was proposed because I already have the 10-17mm and the 15mm irix and was trying to decide which one to sell. Not purchase another lens
Since I don't tend to do a lot of landscape, and the fisheye has the fun factor and flexibility of zoom and af, I am thinking I'm going to keep that one at this stage.
Actually I had another question, is the Pentax 10-17mm quick shift MF?
I actually own the Samsung branded 10-17mm in K mount and it has quick shift. The Schneider Kreuznach version. I owned the Pentax branded one a while back (6 years or so), and I don't remember if that version had it or not... Thanks!

Keep both and get rid of the 1.5 teleconverter :=). You can never have too many wide angle lenses! This is coming from a guy who has the 10-17, 12-24 F4, 14 F2.8, 15 limited, 17-28 F, and the 15-30 DFA :-).

The k3 is my teleconverter! Haha. I meant due to the crop factor. I like having the second body, it compliments the k1 nicely
