will be a 1.4?

i've had my eye on this baby for a while:
Sigma 30mm F1.4 EX DC Lens - Pentax Fit - Only £289.00 - SRS Microsystems

but the weather sealing and SDM would be perfect for band photography!

I'm a big fan of fast lenses... was sticking with pentax a mistake or not? we'll see...

Again, pentax is more likely to chose f1.8 rather than 1.4 - my gut feeling is telling me this.

I was hoping they would have more info available on this lens at the Photokina, as I'm looking for a fast wide (normalish on APS-C). I wouldn't be too unhappy with f/1.8, f/1.7 would be better, and f/1.4 would be great.

However, after seeing the launch price for the DA* 55mm, I'm considering other options.

I'd also like to know whether the DA* 30mm is going to be full-frame or APS-C. I want to use it on film too.

You are probably right. Pentax, unlike sigma, are unlikely to sacrifice quality for the extra stop...

A fast 30mm is unlikely to be FF
