Originally posted by polecat Hello again. Alas, it was Natali who sent me the email this morning (or at least it said that it was from her) so emailing her and asking her to do the "right thing" is probably an exercise in futility. If they had told me that they were out of stock and did not back order items (and didn't accept my money) it would have been a different thing entirely. Every one is entitled to make a profit but this is just really bad PR.

Yes, very bad business practice and bad PR. With the long delivery times, the flakey post-sale price shifting, poor packaging for some items, and the strange practice of having to ship a defective item all the way back to Russia "for evaluation" rather than simply sending the bad goods to Florida, I just have to shake my head.
Transactions with rugift are just one notch shy of doing business on the black market. I don't know if the situation is any better with the other vendors. I don't know if there really ARE any other vendors.
This is too bad. I really liked the idea of helping the struggling Russian optical companies continue operation and exposing their products to wider potential markets. At $250 a pop through rugift, I am seriously tempted to buy a lot of 100 J-9s directly from LZOS, import through regular channels and start a more reputable distribution channel.
