Kit lens 18-55 vs 18-55 II what's the difference

Hi, This my first post. Question. What is the difference between the Kit 18-55 and the 18-55 II. Also, how do you know which one you have? Will it say II in the the filter ring area. Is there a signifigant difference? Thanks

Good idea to do a search for your topic first. There's a thread just below on this topic. The II version has a red "II" stamped on the chrome plate on the lens.
