Here's another stitched shot, with seven across, I''ll post the single shot taken from (around about) the same place as a comparison. (Glencoe in Scotland, with the HD 21 Ltd)

Panorama:

Here's another example for when it doesn't seem wide enough, not very good images, but serve in demonstration.
The first shot of Urquhart Castle is just straight off, while the second is four images taken in a line (portait orientation) all handheld and then popped into MS ICE, adding on less than 3 minutes to make it over the single shot.
Just showing options with the 21, if it isn't quite wide enough for the shot, stitching is much simpler and quicker than I thought it would be.

The 15 is probably as good as the 21 for starbursts. It's one of the few Pentax lenses I have never tested. My understanding of it, and my use of other wide lenses, tells me it's not as easy to master as the 21, but is a very rewarding lens in itw own right.

Yes, I'm aware that the 15 especially has awesome starbursts; I had originally planned on it, before I decided the 21 might be better for my needs.
I believe it's easier to use and more versatile.

That's definitely good to know! I'll be getting the 21 (not HD) around Christmas.

I’m curious about how the DA* 11-18/2.8 images will look. Hopefully we’ll start to see some images soon, maybe early in the new year.

I personally like really wide lenses, and built my kit around that. DFA 15-30 was a natural choice for me, so I decided to invest into the lens, and a filter system to support it. Although i do like to use longer lenses for landscapes too, but I'm still waiting for the ultimate solution for that (DFA 70-200 f4, please come sooner rather than later!)

I bought a Nisi S5 filter that comes with a circular polarizer, and I also purchased a ND10 filter, and planning on getting a graduated filter next.

The haida system seems to be very good as well. Although I didn't test it myself. It's about half the price of nisi I think.

I've got a 40xs as well, it's a a great lens for not very much. I scored mine for under $100. I find it quite suitable for portraits as well as longer landscapes.
Maybe a consideration for the future?
