Buberfan beat me to the link. The A 135 2.8 is a very highly regarded lens, I’ve thought about selling mine, but can’t bring myself to do it. Enjoy!

And I've been hoping you would. I've been looking for A 135 for ever since I got my M 135. Though I came from film era photography and have no problem using an M lens on DSLRs without the green button, an A lens would be much easier. LOL

Congratulations, Allen, on finding one for yourself!

thanks for the comments

after quite awhile not looking at ebay at all, I recently decided to look and found the lens at auction

I put in a bid and was able to win it at quite a good price based on what others seem to have paid for such a lens

a number of other bidders weren't happy

sometimes it is better to be lucky than good

Well, I'm glad to hear you're more lucky than good, and happy you found one. Every one I looked at had an enormous price tag on it and the reason I don't own one now.

when asked what do I know, I'm honest -

less than what I might claim but more than my sisters in law give me credit for

and I love the Dirty Harry quote:

" . . . man's got to know his limitations . . . "

[ question - the use of the word " man " does that imply a woman has no limitations ? ]

No sound on laptop, equates no use for youtube videos. I can see it but can't hear it. LOL

And this woman has her limitations I just prefer not to use them.

It wasn't alway so. Early reviews were that it was soft. Lens snobs turned up their nose at the 4 element optical formula that it shares with the Takumar Bayonet 135/2.5. Pentax was "cutting corners" by not using the K 135/2.5 optical formula...

I have the A135 2.8 & Takumar bayonet 135 2.5 lenses. I just got my K1 last month and have tried the A135, but had not tried the Takumar 135 yet. I just did a few test shots and it's a nice lens too. It has a lot of fringing and CA in bright light. Here are 2 photos I tried side by side. Both F4, iso400. 1/100. They are pretty close, but the coatings on the A lens help a bit with the color. I use this lens a lot for hummingbird photos with nice results.

With the A135:

Congrats on the "new" lens! BTW, probably any A-series lens would be "experienced" unless its been sitting new in the box for the past 30 years.
