Which Kit Lens for my K100D

Earlier this month I purchased a K100D body as I begin my transition into the world of DSLR. I have some old lenses from my K1000, but I am looking at adding the SMC DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6. But I am wondering do I save the money and buy the original 18-55, or do I spend the extra money to purchase the updated version of the 18-55.

Part of my reason is my desire to shoot landscape shots while I am out golfing and my widest lens right now is a Sigma 28-80 f3.5.

Anyone have some thoughts on my options?

not a huge difference. the II is supposed to be a bit sharper, but the price different isn't much anyways? although any money you save, you can put into some new lenses
