K-1 not releasing with D-FA* 50mm f/1.4

I picked up the new 50mm f/1.4 the other week. I updated the firmware in my K-1 and K-3 so they could both use it. Until today, I'd only used it on the K-1 in single-shot or single-shot with remote release.

I tried to use it today on a shoot in burst mode. Nothing. Zilch. The K-1 would not release with the drive mode set to any of the burst modes. Has anyone else had this experience?

I ended up switching over to the 77mm FA Limited for the balance of the shoots, and it worked great. After a couple of power cycles, I was able to get the 50mm to work, somewhat, but the release was still very persnickety.

Buddy says 'why the heck won't your camera work in burst mode with that lens?"

Yes, that's a photo with the 50mm.

Probably a AF issue. Were you shooting in AF-S or AF-C? What happens if you switch to MF and shoot without focus lock confirmation?

I'm going to test 50mm today on K3. I'll post my results with burst mode.

Try it in release-priority mode so it doesn't wait for AF, maybe it's having trouble getting focus confirmation?

Yes, and it would focus but not fire. Burst mode worked fine in manual focus mode.

AF-A, I think. MF works A-Okay.
