Nikon 17-35 challenger with K or m42 mount...

Hey all. I'm looking for a super wide that can hang with my absolute favorite lens in the Nikon bag... the 17-35 f2.8 ED. I rarly go over 24mm with this lens so really I'm looking for a something in the 15-24 range.

Can be a 1.5 crop lens but!! Here's the catch... It HAS to have a aperture ring for my use. So my preference is squarely on the manual side.

What are your thoughts? From searching around the internets I've come up with the following candidates:

Zeiss Flektogon 20 F2.8 (on it's way... we shall see)
Ziess distagon 18 F4
Olympus 18 F3.5

Help me out here! Maybe I'm missing a gem??

Pentax Ultra-Wide Prime Lenses
Tokina 17mm 3.5
Sigma 24mm Ultra Wide AF

if you have the bling, the Zeiss Distagon 21mm should be a gem

if you want the same focal length, sigma makes a 17-35
there's one on sale right now https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/photographers-marketplace/37772-sigma-17-...lens-sale.html

The Distagon 21mm IS appealing... If it or the 18mm F3.5 is truely worth it I may jump.

Does the Sigma 24mm have an aperture ring and where can it be found?

Does the Sigma 17-35 'really' compete with the Nikon 17-35? I'd rather shell out for one good lens than have a collection of so so...
