Must say, super great photos! I have that combinations too, but never got that close to a heron! Looks as sharp as one can hope, only in the background you might argue the effect of the TC shows.

Thanks again to all for the kind remarks.

I do have to comment again about the forgiving nature of this heron. Up to this point it has seemed like they knew I was coming. I haven't been able to get too close at all.

Again also, about this combination. I just love this lens buy itself. But as for the TC, I have been trying to get my hands on one of these teleconverteres for some time. I just got in to this at the end of their production and couldn't find any in the stores. The price on ebay has been outragous at times. Seen one sell for $366. I was fortunate and found one NIB for near the original price.

Very happy with the purchase. I have that little extra reach and still maintain IQ.

But maybe the price has just been driven up again

Oren, as well as it works with the tammy, you should see how it works with the matching Sigma TC....

We'll do
I do have the Sigma already that I bought from Adorama. It was supposed to be in Exc + condition but had a couple scratches on the lens and I have had problems with focusing. It makes the lens motor grind. Maybe I just need to clean the contacts better.

I should add that I most always use a filter. In this case a Hoya super hmc uv
