Yes, it was the WR version. I didn't say I didn't like it; just said that I had one in the past! I just wanted to get into something a little better (hopefully)
Oh, okay. I just bought a WR version and so far it works for me.

Great combo and they're FAST. Let us know what you think once you've taken them for an outing.

Thanks everyone! Just got home with the Sigma 17-50; haven't had time to try it out yet. It looks absolutely beautiful.

Enjoy! Between that and the 10-24 your wide to slight telephoto is covered quite well.

Strange, the Sigma doesn't have a red dot or anything that I can find, to line it up on the camera. Am I missing it somewhere?

A mount index mark? Some lenses lack this - I would just use the top of the lens as the guide.

mark the " sweet spot " with small piece of contrasting tape ???

or perhaps that would leave unacceptable residue

To be honest I have changed lenses in the dark more often than I care to admit - I do it by feel as much as anything. I just need a rough idea of the top of the lens.

Thanks Uncle; this is the first lens I have that doesn't have the "mark". As you suggested, using the top of the lens works; thanks!

You are very welcome! Too many years shooting Nikon and Pentax in bad lighting. LOL.

I'm so very happy with both the Sigma and the Tamron that I purchased here on Marketplace. Both are in new condition with boxes, paperwork, etc.

Here's a sample from the Tamron 70-200 F2.8, handheld, taken thru a window this morning.
