Thanks @Paul the Sunman;
You are welcome. I'm glad it's gone to a good home. Don't forget to give it plenty of exercise.

Well done, Pjv, it's a beautiful piece of glass.

What did you do with the bodies of the others who tried to buy it?
On the Thursday I flagged my intention to see it on the Sunday Ian, and I rang them at 5:50 pm last night " expecting " it to be gone. So happy to hear it was still there. I got to the store this morning at 9:30 am ( 10 am open time ) and took it for a spin. Very, very pleased with it. Waiting for the store to open I browsed Michael's cameras next door, and they have a USED copy in the window for $999.00 !!!

It's great that this has gone to someone here - well done pjv and thanks to Paul for pointing the deal out. I'm guessing that the comment on the docket about "no run rate in 12+ months" means that it's been sitting on the shelf for over a year without any interest, which is a shame.......but good news ultimately for pjv.

I think I might check out a couple of JB Hifi's near me to see if there any similar bargains sitting forgotten and unloved in a cabinet somewhere.

My friend had a trip in Portugal and then he went to Austria.. believe or not he couldn't find any sign of Pentax at all. He gave up and offered me Intax instead

O by the way congratulations Paul!

Austria or Australia, Lev?

I've had that problem as recently as October in Idaho.

Boarded a flight to Vienna, did you?

Every several years, we hear about passengers who disembark from a plane at Sydney, wondering why the airport is so small and why the flight was so short. Sydney, Nova Scotia.

As for the OP and the great deal on the 50-135, good on ya @Paul the Sunman; and enjoy the lens @pjv. I love mine, even converted to screwdrive.

I don't suppose it would be cost-effective for me to fly to MEL to grab the next deal...

My wife and I hired a pickup in Boisie and the sales person printed out our rental agreement in German. I guess she misheard.

If you ever do, drop me a PM and we can have a photowalk on a free afternoon and a drink or two afterwards.

@clackers, thanks for the invitation. Sounds good! Same to you if you're ever close to Ottawa.

I've had several great trips to Australia on business (Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide), and will look you up if I return to your neck of the woods. One memorable trip took me to Melbourne in November -- seeing Myer's Christmas Windows while wandering around in shorts/T-shirt was a bit odd for this Canadian.
