I have the same TC, a Teleplus MC 7 2X KAX Macro and am finding it will NOT AF with my Pentax K20D andPentax 16-45 MM lens. Question, is suspose to Auto-Focus?

Thanks

Mine is all manual focus. If it is the AF type, you should see AF on the model, I think. And if it is the 2x macro teleplus, I have not seen a AF copy.

Thanks,
Hin

Hin,
thanks for all the testing and for publishing it, which is double the work, great!

Here's one more recommandation,

The mouse from very near on LCD monitor (move away to see it getting white/gray)

Pentacon MC 1.8/50 + Panagor Telemacronet 3x + K100D

The Panagor Telemacronet is quite good for extreme macro. It depends on the near limit of the lens you put on, around 50mm is recommended. You will get a very dark viewfinder and have to stop down all the way to get lucky with the focus. All in all, tripod and static subjects and very good lighting needed.

edit: My measurements had this combo above 1:1, about 1.5 : 1

Best, Georg (the other)

Canyou answer a basic question on this TC

I have this exact same Teleplus 2X Kax Macro TC and does it Auto-Focus with your 1.4 Pentax Lens? Will it on a slower Pentax SMC lens, like 4.0 or 5.6?
Look forward to your reply.

Tom, I don't think this is an AF TC, only manual (if it doesn't have AF on it, its manual). The Kenko 2x MC7 Pz-AF TC non-macro should autofocus with that lens as it does autofocus on my f*300mm f4.5.

I answered above and Ivorie also answered this already. Your Teleplus 2x KAX Macor TC is manual focus TC.

Thanks,
Hin

Just got this TC yesterday and still getting used to it. Here's an example of the bokeh and shaprness with a M 50 1.4 at the infinity end of the TC at F2. The macro is really useful but needs lots of light as there is a severe loss but still is quite fun, I'll be posting more examples as soon as I get the chance to shoot some.

P.S. My copy is not Kenko braded but is identical to the one in the first post, has no connectors and is therefor completely manual. A big thank you to the author of the thread as it was his review that helped me decide on buying the TC
