K1 and Tamron 17-50 for Astrophotography?

Has anyone used a K1 and Tamron SP AF 17-50 F2.8 XR for astrophotography in crop mode? I have a Samyang 14mm 2.8 but not the greatest copy in the world, but ok. Thought I would give it a go if anyone else has tried this combination.

Corner performance at the wide end on my 17-50 when trying to shoot stars never impressed me at 2.8. It's been a while though.

Maybe I'll try to take a test shot tonight.

Thanks Steve, Have used this lens on my K5IIs with poor results, but sure most of that was on me. Have improved on my astrophotography since then. Just never thought of putting on my K1 in crop mode for a try until now.

ZombieArmy, went back and looked at some old images from my K5IIs with the Talked about lens at F2.8 edges were not that good for astrophotography. Just shot a few on my K1 in crop with the 17-50 tamron super soft to F/4 then better. Once it clears here also still going to try it on the stars. Looking forward to those images!
