Mitakon Creator II 85mm f2, experience, samples?

I'd really want to get more information about this lens... The rare images that I saw show beautiful bokeh, great rendering with 3d pop, colors and contrast! Thank you!

I went looking for info on this lens a while back. Just a handful of sample images and a few videos about it but no where near enough. What I did find were many recommendations to get the Samyang 85mm instead since it has the contacts to work like an A lens, whereas the Mitakon is fully manual. In the end I bought the Samyang, and I am quite happy with it. It's a bit more but not a lot. Ultimately I want to save up and get the new 85mm when it comes out, but I expect it to be a lot more expensive. Initially I just wanted to try out a fast 85mm without spending a fortune to see if I would use one regularly. I have zooms and and Tamron 90mm but they are f2.8. They are good but not exactly like having an f1.4 prime. I use mine at f2 most of the time and I quite like it.

Interesting facts: It's got only 6 elements in 6 groups and 10 blades. As I can see it's more colorful and contrastier than Samyang wich at 1.4 till f2 lacks contrast... The bokeh it's very leica like very similar to it's cousin: 35mm f2 wich is a leica copy...

Here it's a link with three sessions of model shooting with this lens: Manual Lenses Malaysia : Mitakon Zhongyi Creator 85mm f2.0.

I have the Zhong Yi Mitakon 85mm F1.2 and the bokeh on the photos are great. YEs, it is a fully manual lens but once you get used to it, it delivers.

Comparison with other lenses that you have: 77 limited and 85mm f1.8? Thank you!

The 85/1.8 is soft wide open while the 77/1.8 is very nice wide open too.

If I were to compare the 85/1.8, ZY 85/1.2, FA*85/1.4 and the 77/1.8, I most likely will bring along the 77, 85/1.4 and 85/1.2 out for portrait shooting as all are great wide open. The 85/1.8 is great from F2 onwards.

Saying that, each lens has its own character.

Samples are in my flickr account.

I could be wrong here but you guys don't seem to be talking about the same lens. The OP asked about the Mitakon Creator II 85mm f2 while felixkh responded with info about the Mitakon Speedmaster 85mm F1.2.

Yes, I know, I have asked him about that lens too because it's the only mitakon he's got...
