The DA*11-18 is WR and will be available soon! Look in your catalog to see what you don't use much, then examine the images, and if they are not as good as you would like, sell it and get the new * lens!

I guess I get that. The question is what you want to cure. Lens buying is fun, and each new one is a new experience with new creative capabilities. All I'm trying to do for myself is cure the "collecting" part. It's fine to acquire as long as I don't forever accumulate!

You have the same crippling hole in your collection that I do: weather-resistant lens better than the kit 18-55, but wider than the 55-300. I've rented and liked the 16-85 WR, but something about the 20-40 calls to me. But I'd be happy if the 21 LTD was WR, but it's small enough that maybe you could shield it from most weather? Maybe we just need all three. How about you buy all of them and write up a detailed comparison? Then you'll really have all you need.
) Well, no comment!

I hope both, someday...

You have got most everything covered... If I were to make a suggestion it would be a DA * 300 F4 for telephoto, it blows the 55-300 away at 300mm. I can spend with the best of them!
It was an intention, now it's reactivated!

Thank you! I'm cured with 11- 18mm!

You're not nuts to want to add the 43 into that mix. I actually use it much more often than my 50ish length lenses, In fact, I'd say it wouldn't surprise me if you found you rarely used your 50's after getting the 43. It will be a combination of the little wider perspective and the rendering magic of the 43. It really just does a lovely job, and it's fast and sharp enough together to be happy in low light too. The size and weight is such there's never much excuse to leave it at home either.

Seriously it's quite an addiction! The problem is that you reach the point when you acquire a new lens and you don't feel any excitement anymore!

In fact, you're not focusing on photography anymore just on testing new lenses and thinking that lenses makes you a great photographer...

Anybody who finds the 18-55 to be adequate would find the 18-135 more than adequate. I have better uses for my money, so I don't need excuses to purchase every lens in existence. My Sigma 10-20, DA 18-135, and DA 55-300 PLM fill my bag and my heart.

Personally I've been thinking of replacing my da 55-300 for the 55-300plm, (but my old da is such a good copy)...such a good copy, such a good copy, ohhhh the itch!😄 Kidding aside, you could always sell some, then buy some.
The 55-300PLM really is a very good Pentax lens! Excellent value!...mine goes everywhere.

I found the 18-55 adequate for quite a while, but then I came here and found people talking about corner sharpness and stopping down and limited primes and how 2mm on the wide end is HUGE and well... how can you use a kit lens anymore? Also, I've rented the 16-85 and it's pretty darned nice.

I have thought about the 18-135, or even just having the 18-55 WR as my backup for bad weather. Certainly would help with the pocketbook.

So, I'm pretty covered won't you think?
My inner voices:
"You should buy a 43mm limited instead of 55mm sdm, a 77mm limited instead of Samyang or even a Mitakon creator 85mm.. "
"You should buy a Leica r lens and convert to Pentax, because of better rendering, contrast, bla bla"
Please cure my lba!
Thoughts for the weekend:

a) Yes, it's enough. Convert your lba impulse to the travel bug and "invest" in new vistas and life experiences (with your camera).
b) Listen to the inner voices. LBA IS the cure. Replace that 55mm with a 43mm and grab that 77mm limited or you'll never stop pining for it.
c) Adopt a new mantra: "Less Is More; Less Is More; Less is More" and reverse your LBA with LIM.

If you still can't decide, then flip a coin. Heads="a". Tails="b". The coin lands on it's edge or falls somewhere in which you cannot determine heads or tails="c".
DO NOT go 2 of 3 on those flip tosses.

Take an old screwdrive 55-300, point at bird in the sky, then hit autofocus. WWWHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. And it never focuses on anything. The PLM mightn't focus on anything either, but at least it's fast and it keeps it to itself. And mine has nicer out-of-focus areas.

The old screwdrive versions are fine if you really, truly have a budget capped at $150. But if you can scrape and scrounge $350 the PLM is a joy.

I know if I change those lenses will have other inner voices: get leica or zeiss, get a k1 or even a 645z...
