40mm Limited - 'Leaf' it Alone.....

You know where this is heading - autumn leaf pictures!

Everyone is posting them so hopefully the members aren't bored yet. Ah well - I had fun taking them.

I brought my K10D and trusty 40mm Limited along to work today and had a few minutes to snap some seasonal pictures. This lens is one of my favourites but it sometimes gets overlooked due to it's diminutive size.

Thanks for looking.

Fuzzy cattail

Unfuzzy cattail

Leaves - just converted from RAW to jpg - no PP

100% crop of a bug resting on a red leaf - the 40mm isn't known for it's macro-ability, so it's just a closeup.

This leaf is stumped - can't decide if it should be red or yellow.

I thoroughly enjoy taking photos of individual isolated subjects, but my favorites are indeed leafs in the fall. And you have reminded me how vibrant those fall colors could be, and how different each leaf looks from each other, so thank you for sharing!

Our colors just starting to change in VA, I will be out to look for them!

Regards,
D

nice photos, i find my FA43 which is close in focal length a very versatile lens.
the 100% crop of the bug is exceptionally sharp

Nice work. Gotta get my own flat forty out some day, the world is yellow now.
Gotta come up with some other pictures, I love working with the pancake.

Not from the DA40, but leafs regardless:

Nice work Jeff, I like the last one the best, just the simplicity of it.

I keep buying Loto 6/49 tickets - if I win big I'll buy all the Limited lenses!
Thanks for the bug comment. It helps when they don't move; I think he was frozen.

Thanks for the compliment. The leaves are just about all done turning and are starting to fall off the branches.

Yep - it is a fun little lens; quite versatile actually.

Thanks, I like it too. (Psst, don't tell anyone but I staged it. Looking down made it easier to focus on the whole leaf. It still looks a bit off focus, though.)

I see nothing. When I tried to access the images directly from your server I got 404...
