Chose the Tamron 70-200 f2.8

Well, after much agonizing I've just ordered a Tamron 70-200 from B&H. Most of my lenses are Sigmas, and overall I've been very satisfied with them. That's where the agonizing came in. With the Pentax 60-250 priced at $1500 and a maximum aperture of f4, that wasn't even in the running as far as I was concerned, but I found the Sigma 70-200 very appealing, and I guess some of that had to do with brand familiarity. From what I have gathered on this and other forums, the HSM motor on the Sigma is little if any faster on the K10D than the screw-driven motor on the Tamron, and it's hard for me to ignore the test results posted by Pop Photo and DPreview. Moreover, the pictures I've seen posted by owners of the Tamron appear razor sharp even wide open at 200mm, and none of them have reported any more problems with low-light auto focusing than they have experienced with other lenses. Hopefully my experience will mirror theirs.

Chose Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 over Sigma

After reading the various reviews and initial user feedback, I went with the Tamron. The dpreview statement about the Sigma having shift of focus issues owing to spherical aberration tilted me in favour of the Tammy. Admittedly, the Tamron is not as good at 135mm, wide open.

Also check out this Canon review site comparing the two lenses (remove spaces from the URL):

i just ordered DA*50-135mm and thinking of getting the Tamron 70-200mm, is it logical?...i have the tamron 28-75mm, wish pentax would of come up w/ a 70-200mm f2.8 and the price of the 60-250mm is outrageous and its f4, but if its 2.8 constant then different story...

If possible, could anyone who has received their Sigma/Tamron posts some photos of what it looks like mounted on the camera? I'm a little worried about the size of the lenses, and seeing that they look like relative to the camera would be very helpful.

I was waiting for a year or so to get the Tamron one. Well, yesterday I finally got the 50-135 since I decided that this is the most suitable focal length for my style. After all I am not planning to get to FF as long as APS is supported by pentax. I know 70-200 is quite more flexible but personally rarely shoot over 135mm... Maybe in the future if pentax release a 135-300/2.8 and find myself having more free time for shooting I will consider an addition to my arsenal

Jimbo posted a photos of the lens on his camera. As for photos using the Sigma, plenty of them have been posted in the last month.
