Update! I was able to get the refund for one of the lenses. I had to go through Paypal. Now the seller is asking if I can revise the feedback. He said since he refunded me that I should. Overall it was still a negative experience. I had to get Paypal involved inorder for him to refund me. With that being said should I bother revising the feedback? What would be the consequences if I didn't? I feel his potential customers should be warned about him. I don't think he deserves a five star review do you?
I would not change the feedback except to add that once you involved PayPal, they refunded the price of the lens...

He has 97% on his feedback.
Despite what most people think when they see high numbers like that, it is actually quite a poor statistic.

If the airline industry had a 97% success rate, there would have been 1.1 million plane crashes last year. If Samsung had that kind of hit rate, they would have sold 8.8m faulty phones last year.

97% is actually a fairly poor success rate.

I would update the feedback only to include the info that Paypal was able to get you a refund.

As for 97% - it depends on transaction volumes. But as said above, that's potentially a lot of bad sales.

@Prince Harbinger; could you re-confirm the feedback ratings of the two sellers, please? If the two sales I found on eBay are the right ones (lens serial numbers), I believe their ratings were higher than 99% (99.2 for the Sonnar seller, and 99.6 for the Takumar). Did I see the right listings?

Not that it makes a difference to your specific transactions, but a rating in the mid-99% range is better than 97%.

You got it right. I got it mixed up with another seller. I gave these sellers the benefit of the doubt. Next seller I'm making sure they are 100% positive and can take a photo shining a flashlight underneath the back element. I asked a seller to do that for the Helios, and he got offended. The guy had taken photos with the lens fully stopped down. I couldn't see a darn thing it was so dark. He obviously has something to hide. Oh well his loss. He can keep it with that attitude. It's not like I was being rude either. I asked the seller nicely.

Once again I'd like to thank everyone for their advice. You guys are very helpful and amazing!🙏🏼

P.S. I'm going to be starting a new thread for two lenses that I'm interested in from Ebay. This is going to be a tough pick! Stay tuned!

I'm only a very occasional seller and buyer on ebay but I think 100% is a very high standard to demand. This can cut both ways and buyers are sometimes unreasonable and/or dishonest also and impossible to please. I don't hesitate to use a seller with a 98 - 99% rating. It also helps to look at the specific individual ratings. Just my opinion.
