Thanks for doing the test!
Correctly if I'm wrong but without a hood it looks like it will function well as a FF from 15 - 18mm. And from 16 - 18 with hood.

Thats pretty useful coverage on FF in my books. Of course corner sharpness might be an issue.

I think I'd rather just have a 16mm or 18mm prime for FF.

I have done similar tests on my own copy and can confirm that it does indeed cover the full frame from 15-16mm. The hood makes little difference.

IQ does drop a bit in the corners, and the corners are a bit darker on full frame than the equivalent focal length on crop. I would not use it on full frame if I had a crop body available.

Sharpness in the centre is outstanding from f/2.8. The corners are never fabulous at 11mm, even stopped well down, but that improves rapidly when you zoom in a little.

Images can be seen HERE

Bottom line: given the size and weight difference, and filter factor, I reckon I'll be selling my DFA15-30.

As they are many 11-18 users here ... what is AF speed and reliability of this lens? Could you compare it to some older lenses?

Too early to say with any certainty, but so far, so good.

Most similar lens in regards to AF is probably 20-40 Limited, same technology.

Agreed. Very similar focus speed. As far as accuracy, seems pretty good.

Yep, that's what my tests showed for the K-1...
