K-mount won't mount

I bought a 28mm lens on eBay. The seller says it came from his Pentax K1000 camera and is a K-mount. I cannot mount this lens on my K100D Super or on my K20D. What gives? I thought the current cameras could accomodate any legacy lens. The lens is called Image 28mm F/2.8. On the mount face it says P/K-A R-P/K. On the front face it says IMAGE MC.

Yes, the base cap says Ricoh. I guess I was lucky I didn't succeed in mounting it. Thanks for the link.

It looks like this. It has the extra pin, but I think what's keeping it from mounting is the very large black flange.

There's a solution here, but I'm not sure I want to bother since I could just send the lens back. http://www.robertstech.com/flange.htm
