Thanks folks, but I've hit a snag. The Sigma 12-24DG has an intermittent fault. It shows up as a MF lens then suddenly is AF, then its MF, and so forth. No manipulation results in reliable AF/f control by the body. I've tried it on the K-1, K-5IIs, and K-01 with the same results. I then tried several other AF lenses, including Sigma lenses, on each and they all worked as they should. Now I will find out how friendly KEH is when there is a problem (never had one with them before). I was really hoping to use this lens this weekend at an event. Ah well, the FA-J 18-35 it is then.

By the way, if you're checking the 12-24 for decentering, check the long end. Due to the way the elements travel through the barrel, decentering can be more apparent when at 20mm+.

Looking at that list again it seems like they were purchased without finding the right lens yet. Or maybe just for fun, idk. I know this wasn't the original questions, but one lens is missing which is the DFA 15-30 2.8. Maybe it's worth a thought. I'd trade in that list for this lens. As an alternative the FA 20-35 f4, but if you use the K-5iis then the 15mm would make more sense.

I'm in a transition from all APS-C to FF with APS-C backup. The lenses were acquired a number of ways. The Viv19/3.8 was free when I bought a bundle of gear (actually 2 were in the box unexpectedly and I sold one). The 8FE was purchased years ago as a fun experiment that I have enjoyed using and used in teaching others about seeing the entire scene (its amazing how often they forget to check low and don't see their own feet in the photo). The DA12-24 replaced a Tamron 10-24 that I had as my 2nd APS-C lens for years. The 8-16 because I could not believe how wide it was as a rectilinear lens. The FF lenses because I need UWA and frankly $1300 for a lens is ridiculous. Now that I have too much I'd like to trim down to a manageable number, recoup some cost, and actually use the lenses that I keep. Sadly, the malfunctions with the Sigma 12-24DG have thrown a monkey wrench in the process. I like how it renders (MF and A ring are useable but I did not pay for an "A" lens) but it has to go back.
