Just personal preference. I haven't seen any proof one is better than the other. But I have owned MIJ K1000s, as well as assembled-in-Taiwan K1000s, but never a Chinese-made K1000 with plastic top and bottom plates.

My camera is black, but it sure looks good with a silver FA* lens attached.
I always found it a bit of a mismatch when I had a black K5 and I put my 31/77 on it. Just didn't quite look right. But hey, if you like it, I'd say any colour would do then!

OP/TECH USA. I bought them (many of them over the years!) from B&H.
They are absolutely brilliant for packing small primes. I would not be without them.

Any color as long as it's black.

At the same price, for me silver looks better.

My 77 is black, because it popped up at a good price second-hand, and my 43 is silver, because I looked for it.

Silver tends to get higher prices in the used market, as they are harder to come by.

Someone offered recently to swap their silver 77 for a black one on the marketplace, and I almost but, but I like my 77 so much that I don't want risking another copy.

In your shoes, I'd go with black, only to have a matching set

I bought my 43 silver in 2010 and then 77 silver 2 years later. The 31 silver came 2nd hand in 2015 when a buddy let go to move to m43. Other buddies who had the black amigos had the paint come off and the silver did not suffer the same fate.

Used them on the K7, K5, K30, K3 and then K1. My son uses them with his KP.

We both enjoy the amigos.

Nowadays, the current production models are black only and all Assembled In Vietnam.
