Thorium Dioxide

on today's (May 1, 2019) front page at Wikipedia (english), a photo of some lenses with varying levels of yellowing, and a link to Thorium Dioxide article
Thorium dioxide - Wikipedia
Interesting to me because the Takumars are instantly identifiable in the image, even before you enlarge it to read the fronts.

They surely could have found another 50mm tak, without the thorium to round out the shot,

I'd got several radio-active lens: Tomioka 55mm f1.2, Tak 8 elements 50mm f1.4 and 6x7 105mm f2.4; that was the best flare resistant tec in 70's.... so far I'm (and my 4 arms childen) proud of them all

Just to be on the safe side, replace those kitchen counter-tops, but don't let them go to waste. Move'm to the photo-gear room to set a collection of the above lenses on!
