FA* lens won't autofocus - please help me solve this

I have a K20D. I currently own just one autofocus lens, the 16-45 f4. It focuses just fine on the camera.

Today, I received a used FA* 85/1.4 that I purchased on ebay. It won't autofocus. I can't figure out why not. I've cleaned the contacts with an eraser. The aperture and metering is working fine. It manual focuses smoothly and easily. When I try to autofocus, I hear nothing. Neither the camera nor the lens make a sound.

What's the deal?

You need to switch the focus ring to AF position, or you can just ship it to me (I prefer the latter).

You left out the hot tar and feathers and the rail to get him out of town first.

In the first week with my DSLR, I was out taking photos of flowers....

And they all came out blue! Everything was tinted blue!

I was sure my new camera was hooped. I was all set to pack it up and take it back, when I recalled playing with that "white balence" thing...

Anyhow, glad you got your lens to work.

It happens to all of us...when I first got my Tamron 90mm Macro lens I was kinda ticked and thought it was broken because the focusing ring would just keep turning and turning and not do any focusing and I just all of a sudden jerked it in desperation to try and get it to do something and I heard it snap into the manual focus position and all was well after that

Once after shooting with a Tak most of the day, I put my 50-135 on and spent the next 30 seconds wondering why the AF was 'broken'.

MF->AF switch. Duh. Could happen to anyone.
