New Sigma EX DC HSM 17-50mm f/2.8

This is really the first modern "wide" lens I've had. Just got it today. Using it around the house in medium light...just wow. Nearly-silent focus and close. I will post a full review when I've used it for awhile, but I'm impressed.

It's very nice, my choice on APS-C for a 'pro' style normal zoom.

Congrats on the new lens! It's very versatile, and the image quality is quite excellent. I'm sure you're going to love it

Congratulations on your acquisition!

It has become one of my favorites since getting this fine lens last year. In fact, I just paired it with my DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 lens on my KP for some evening shots of freighters passing under the Blue Water Bridge 2 days ago. Its performance was very impressive! Such build quality, fine AF, good design with 77mm filter size and excellent imaging in a zoom lens of 17-50mm with f/2.8 aperture, at this price point is a bargain! Its AF/MF switch is handy too. A minor downside is its very short and undamped MF turning range, which makes MF very touchy, but of course enhances AF speed.

But I have no complaints, only enjoyment from this lens!

I have a boatload of MF lenses, particularly in the Tamron Adaptall range. So, it's nice to have a day off and use the AF
