Quite rare but it has happened on occasion to other Pentax lenses too.

Something like this?

That's a different problem. The focus ring is held by 3 screws which could be loosen themselves if not tighten and threadlock well enough in the factory. It only takes mins to fix if you know how.

I think Alan should start a repair service here for us forum friends

Looking at my FA 77mm I don't see the 3 screws you mentioned...

Those 3 screws are hidden underneath the filter ring & lens hood.

Thanks for the responses. Australian agents CR Kennedy fixed and returned the lens in 10 days, which must be something of a record for them!!!

Take Care

Glad that it all worked out. CRK is improving their service after all. Good to see.

jsherman: does the limited do anything for you that your 50-135 desn't do? (i'm ignoring 2.8 vs 1.8 since you got other fast lenses).

So sell the ltd and get that other new toy, you know you want to.

I find the 77 to be a "magic lens". If you are the right distance away it is hard to get a bad shot with it. I've shot in very dark clubs with it and gotten very nice results (on a K20d).
