You people aren't thinking... most of these shots are the shooter not the lens. Have the man give you a few classes, it may be cheaper than the LBA......

jsherman999 or anyone else with the Tamron, any change on some pictures and AF impressions in indoor situations ? Preferably moving targets like in sports ? I'm anxious to see the sharpness of it, the shutter speeds you are getting wide open.

I have this lens for sale

Hi everyone,

With heavy heart I made decision to leave Pentax. I will be selling all of my gear in near future, and the first item to go is the best of the lot: Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8. I've put it up on eBay: Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 lens for Pentax DSLR - MINT! - eBay Digital Camera Lenses, Lenses, Photographic Accessories, Cameras. (end time 15-Dec-08 11:04:49 AEDST)

I am shipping worldwide, local pickup (Perth, Australia) is OK, too.

I am advertising it here, as I do not want to break rules of the Marketplace. I put it on eBay instead thinking that there would be more potential buyers out there who would like it delivered before Christmas. If it does not sell there, I will put it up on the Marketplace.

I provide samples in the ad. I will take some pictures of the lens and upload them too at some stage.

Cheers,
Mladen Males

Any Focusing Problems

I've been looking at this lens. When this lens was reviewed by DPReview, they mentioned a problem with focus. However, I've not read from any of the owners who have posted here anything about focusing problems.

While I know that the the great shots shown here are the results of more than just a great lens, they are also the results of fine photographers, however, the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 obviously captures great excellent quality images. A special thanks to each of you who have posted your phenominal images for the rest of us.

It's been a long time since I read that review, but a quick look shows me they did the test with a Canon mount lens, and I think those models used use a lens based focusing motor rather than a camera body based drive motor like this lens uses in the pantax mount - that may cause different results.

I can tell you that my copy focuses excellently on my K20D, or it did before I sent it in for warranty service with a stuck aperture... I hope it's just as good when it comes back!

You really making it hard cause I was just thinking tody about that same lens to complete my fast autofocus lens collection.

Yes, but they charge $100/hour. After your 7th session, you start thinking about
how you could have bought the Tamron 70-200 for all this therapy and been happier.

(btw, I sold my copy to Daacon. Some days I miss the bokeh)

I have the Sigma 100-300 f/4 in Nikon mount, and couldn't justify keeping both.
The Tamron is probably a bit sharper, and the K20D has better colors generally
than my D90, but the Sigma HSM focuses so very fast on the D90, and I need
it mostly for kid shots.

That doesn't mean that I wont end up with one again, I do miss it, especially
the sharpnes/bokeh at f/2.8 close-in. If I find a great deal on one in the future,
I may suffer a moment of weakness....

You can get a new Tamron in the US for $699 - $750 or so. One of the best
bang-for-buck deals in existence for Pentax, let me tell you.
