Yep. My favorite is the FA77. Most on the camera is the FA31.
Without question my 31ltd. As it's my favorite, for this reason I'm seriously considering it's sister lens, the 77ltd, instead of the 50-135* (but that's another thread...)

Probably my SIGMA 10-20mm at the moment.

I'm on a bit of a kick to photograph the town as it's undergoing some major changes with lots of demolition/rebuilding projects happening at the moment. A wide-angle is superb for capturing these sort of images.

When shooting images of shipping I like to use the above mentioned Sigma 10-20 but also the Sigma 50-500 aka 'The Bigma.' Between the pair I can shoot pretty much anything with such a wide range of focal lengths to choose from.

Other than that, my A50/1.4 on the MZ-S. That lens pretty much stays on the film camera all the time whilst occasionaly being surplanted by a Zenitar 16/2.8+

For portrait stuff I like to use my DA40 on both the MZ-S and my GX-10 bodies. A superb bit of kit from Pentax and one that wouldn't disgrace anybodies camera setup.

Tough call. I like all my lenses and consider them all very good. The K 300 f4 and K 200 2.5 have seen a lot of action lately with the DA 70mm 2.4 close behind.

Tom, your K 200 2.5 is one of the sharpest 200mm's I've seen - I always mentally
compare any lens I have that reaches 200mm to those tank shots you took!

Most used - I alternate between an F 35-70 zoom, and the DA 40mm. Although I recently got an XR Rikenon 35mm, and I could keep that on my camera indefinitely as well. My favorite lens is a Tele-Vitvitar 85mm f1.8 T-mount, but it isn't that applicable for general shooting.

Super Tak 50/1.4. Been using it for 38 years.

Recently obtained a MINT Super Tak 35/2.0 to mainly use on my K100DS. First it had to go to Eric to be disassembled and cleaned. It's now in the window receiving the ultraviolet removal of the yellowing. I'll be interested to see how it compares.

My main K10 has a Tamron 28-75mm on it all the time. Focal length is perfect for me and you can't beat the IQ for a zoom (without paying extra for a * lens).

My second K10 gets equal playing time with my primes FA50 1.4 / FA77 Ltd / Sigma 70 Macro / A35 2.8.

Personally I like operating the Sigma 70 the most, but it's a pretty specific lens. I'd love the FA77 more if I didn't struggle so much with exposure (it's all over the map for me).

FA 24-90 f/3.5-4.5. I have a bunch of other very nice lenses including primes, but I find having a decent-quality mild wide and portrait-length tele in the same lens pretty darn handy. It also balances well and seems to be just about the right size/weight on either my *ist DS2 or K10D. I sometimes wonder whether the new DA 17-70 f/4 would be a good fit for me (for those outings when I don't want to also bring a DA 12-24 or DA 16-45).
That FA 24-90 lives on my MZ-S. I have never taken it of the camera since I got the k10d and DA. Yes, there is film going through the camera. Some things are for film only. One of the best of them is my wife. She is hooked on 4x6 (10x15) prints and doesn't like rating images on the computer. What can I say?

Some interesting preliminary data...

just wondered, do you have a favourite lens that is mostly mounted onto your camera

Dave
A quick run through comes up with these at the top on-the camera lenses among those responding (n=55):

1. FA 35 and FA 50 f/1.4 (tie). A close second goes to the 50-135 as the top zoom

Assuming that the lens that is on the camera most of the time represents a preference, then primes are preferred by about two out of three persons .

Thanks Jay.

For me this lens (K 200 2.5) is more than just beautifully made and optically superb which it is. I find it is a perfect fit to my K10 (with battery grip) and it just "feels" right in the hand. This is all subjective of course but it makes (for me) using the lens a pleasant experience. It has the same "feel" my MX (with winder) and the M 100 2.8 had. I still can't believe I sold that one. The A 100 2.8 macro I replaced it with is a great lens but doesn't have the good "feel" the M 100 had. I'm sure you would enjoy using a K 200 2.5 as well and I wouldn't be surprised to see one show up in your signature before long. It just won't be mine.

Cheers,

Tom G
