That would be me.

Given the "trapped on a desert island with food, shelter and power" scenario, I would have to take the DA35/2.8 Macro. The least tragic lens to be permanently stuck on my K-5. If only it were full-frame.

If I'm allowed to grab my deglassed P-KA 2X teleconverter to use as an extension tube, I'll take the FA 50/1.4.

DA 35mm f2.8 Macro Limited

Theory on DA 35mm ltd 'greatest lens ever' (?) tag - PentaxForums.com

it is truly a desert isle lens.... it made me love the 35mm focal length and set me to collecting lenses at that length....

The Pentax-A 50mm F2.8 is the lens I always come back to. So compact, brilliant color and sharpness, recessed lens so no need for a hood, super close focus when needed but also great at longer distances to infinity. I have recently been using it with Fuji X cameras as well. F2.8 when you need it but also no noticeable loss of sharpness with the small apertures.
A far behind second - Limited 77mm.. images perhaps more special, but for me less versatile, especially on digital APS-C cameras....

With a crop sensor, I would be happy with the ZK 35/F2. If I had a K-1, then my VL 58/F1.4 would probably be the one. Although even the ZK 100/F2 is a strong contender... Aargh... Choices, choices, choices..

That's not true... But it is close! I've had others tell me they tried the K1 and didn't buy it either, but the numbers are small for sure!

Edit: or did you mean the 31?

Oh yeah, an SMC 24mm f2 Ltd with integrated hood and not problems with some field curvature? Basically a new, better, FA*24 replacement? I've been grumbling that this doesn't exist for a while now.
Haven't read through all the comments, but I guess that makes more than three of us now. Fujifilm read the tea leaves right, they have two fast primes at 23mm, one of them weather-sealed.

out of all the lenses I have at present, I'd choose the DA 35 f2.4 for versatility, a very nice lens for the price.
Me too; DA L 35mm ƒ/2.4. The question is more about most used focal length for those without duplicates. I've been surprised though, at how well the plastic fantastic performs.

Only one prime? On APSC? I'd have to go with the DA 21

I've got a NIB copy of the Vivitar (Cosina) 100/3.5 Macro that has to be the best 'plastic' lens I've ever used...

I'm torn between my SMC DA 35mm f/2.4 (yup, it seems like it's coming up quite a bit in here) and the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Art. I would probably take the Sigma if I had to decide now, but the Plastic Fantastic is so light I can carry it all day long, and it has those fantastic Pentax colors and rendering that we know and love.
I would also probably be OK if all I had was my manual focus Tokina 24mm f/2.8. I'm constantly amazed at how well this lens performs (I'm thinking about selling my SMC-A 24mm f/2.8!) - sharper than the Pentax to my eyes, nice colors and rendering (even if not quite like SMC), and it focuses super close! It's a bit wider than the other two but as Dartmoor Dave said so well earlier in the thread, the distortion on a 35mm/equiv lens is still on the acceptable side. Anything wider couldn't be used regularly.

I only have a K5iis so FF is not an issue. I have three lenses I like a lot and another 3 that I'd be hard to part with. The like a lots are the FA31, FA77 and a Tokina ATX 90mm macro. In the like it some are the FA43, F135mm, and Canon FL 55mm 1.2. Its really hard to pick among the top 3. If all I did was street photography and architecture it would be the FA31. If all I did was portraiture it would be the FA77. If all I did was flower photos it would be the Tokina. Overall, the most useful focal range is the FA31 and with some extension tubes, its possible to take macro photos so that would be the one.

DA 35 macro on Apsc......it was an obvious choice for me....
FF would be my SMC-K 35mm 3.5.
