Helios 28mm/2.8 Pancake, M42

Hello,
I have got a lens from a friend for free. Helios 28mm/2.8 M42 Pancake, No. 849714-5 (maybe 5th generation?) Made i Japan. Anybody know this lens? The lens looks nice and very small, but the blades are stuck wide open.
Is it difficult to repeare it your self?

Its not as simple as having the A/M switch on the side in auto mode is it? Looks like the cover has come off but its that protruding piece of metal near the mount.

Vintage 28mm's are so ubiquitous and I'm not sure any of them are truly bad, some better than others obviously and you may need to stop down a touch to get good sharpness.

Despite the Helios branding these 'made in japan' lenses are simply rebrands of Japanese designs and bear no relation to the iconic Russian made versions however (44 etc.)
