Which one of these lenses that I own would you use most of the time on my KP if you owned this camera and these lenses? I really do need some suggestions! I have tried all of these

I know, but just for use when I am traveling so I don't at times have to lug around my K1-ii and it's heavy lenses I use for landscape work shooting special scenes.

Since you added it's for travel, either 18-135 or 20-40. The 18-135 is versatile but if carrying size becomes more important then use the 20-40.

I'm going to the Caribbean in two weeks, and that on my K-3 will be kit (with maybe a 55-300). I was going to take my K-1, but then I would have just the 28-105, which is just not as versatile (and as you note, I do not want to carry around any of the bigger lenses).

I love the photos from my 31mm but when traveling I need a little more versatility and I am tending toward the 20-40 I seem to get very good photos from it and better than I get from the 18-135 .

For everyday carrying around and travel, I'd start with either the 18-135 or the 16-85, and the 55-300PLM. All of these are good quality, reasonably priced, weatherproof, compact and versatile.
Then I'd add on top of the based on specific shooting needs.

for use when I am traveling

'Traveling' often suggests a lightweight and compact kit, so I would recommend the DA 20-40mm and the FA 31mm Limited with your KP. If you think you would need a telephoto, then the DA 200mm could be taken instead of the FA 31.

My typical travel kit is the DA 20-40, DA* 50-135, and a fast prime such as the FA 43 Ltd or F 50/1.7. I used to take my DA 18-135, but prefer the results from the 20-40/50-135 combination.

Another vote for the 18-135. Coupled with the 55-300 PLM and 35 2.4 for low light it's pretty much a no brainer if weight is a concern. A fun kit that fits in a small, easily manageable bag.

Depending on where I am and at what part of my trip I am in and the circumstances I could bring these lenses. What do you all think of this -

DA* 200mm f/2.8 ED (IF) SDM

I could use my 20-40 as a catch all and the 31mm 1.8 for low light shots and the 200mm for telephoto needs.

HD DA 20-40 would have my vote. The KP is nearly tailor-made for that lens.

Sounds like you want agreement with your choices rather than suggestions.

When travelling, the 31 would seem an unnecessary extra lens to carry for low light - the better SR and the improved low light performance in the KP would allow you to gain at least 2 extra EV by reducing the shutter speed and/or increasing the ISO. However, you might need a wide aperture lens if you regularly want a short depth-of-field in your images.

No not at all MrB1, you do not know me, I asked because I needed more impute and I like what you said. I had not even considered the better SR and improved light performance and extra EV giving me with the KP. Thank you

The only one of those lenses that I have is the 18-135. In my opinion, if I had the 20-40 I would probably use it a lot. I understand that the DA* 200 is a fine lens, but I'm unsure how useful it would be. I'm also not sure about the 31, since I rarely use the 35 I have, but maybe that would be different if I used the 31 and was blown away by the results. I guess I would have to say the 20-40 would be my answer, and 18-135 next because of the versatility. On my KP as of late my most used lenses are the HD DA 55-300 PLM, , DA*300, and the HD DA 15 Ltd. I may buy a DA 21 soon since i have wanted one foe some time, but the 20-40 could be more useful, especially since it is a WR lens. I put different combinations together when traveling depending on type of travel, (car or air) and destination / journey, where I'm going and what will I do there. I just returned from a trip where I only used the 300 and the 55-300, but I had also brought the 15, F50, 18-135, and Tamron 90 Macro since I had space in the car. I have another car trip coming up in September and an air trip in October. There will be different gear for each trip, the K-50 may even go in September.
